The grades given are excellent, very good, good, fair and poor. Excellent is the highest grade given to any diamond where as poor is the lowest grade. The next thing that you need to know about the diamonds is the grading of the color of the diamond and which diamond is the most expensive and least expensive as per the color. The colors of the diamonds range from white or colorless to yellow or somewhere close to mustard or brown. Color holds the key to the beauty and the price of the diamond. D grade is given to a colorless or white diamond which is also the most expensive one.
The grading goes upto Z which is a completely yellow or brown in color. It is also the least expensive one too. Other than this blue color diamonds which are very rare are also very expensive ones. Black and orange are other colors for the diamonds. Clarity is another feature that is also highly significant to make the diamond valuable. As diamonds are natural stone almost all of them contain flaws or blemishes. The highest degree offered to any diamond is FL which states flawless completely. The lowest degree is I1-I3 which means that has imperfection of highest nature. These degrees contain size and number of the flaw.
Technicalities
The blemishes are from outside and refining those helps in making the diamond completely free from them. Carat is the unit that gives information about the diamond’s size. 1 carat is equal to 0.2 grams.
